Four levels of cloud embracing strategy. Which is yours?

There are four levels of cloud embracing strategy. Which is yours?

  • Novice: Make a snapshot of your systems and move them to the cloud. You tick the box and get a bonus as long as nobody checks #ROI. If they do... you become an independent consultant.

  • Intermediate: Make a snapshot of your systems and move them to the cloud. Use scaling functions to avoid payments for 90% of resources for 90% of time. You tick the box and get a bonus. Nothing else happens.

  • Master: You know the cloud does not have computable ROI. You refactor your systems so they are easier to change, and your company operates more efficiently and captures unthinkable opportunities. Business folks hate you because they cannot blame you for their mistakes. You tick the box, get the bonus and become an independent consultant.

  • Lazy: You keep saying 'ROI' until you can assemble your workflows in a low/no-code system. You do not tick the box, but you do enjoy your competition trying to migrate their workloads again. Afterwards, people will say you were just lucky.
