Flow First: Why Great Leaders Design for Knowledge, Not Control
When decisions slow down, it’s not because people don’t care — it’s because the system stops their knowledge from moving. Here’s how to fix that.
As a leader, you do not need heroics.
Unfortunately, most leaders still think leading means telling people what to do.
External consulting, deadlines, dashboards, escalations. The usual.
But in complex situations, that approach burns out fast. And so do people.
The alternative?
Architect the system.
⌛ Help people find time for adding value.
🔁 Help them find each other.
🎙️ Build spaces where tensions can surface early.
💥 Add executive power ("I find exploring it further valuable").
Suddenly, the same people stuck in their past cycles start taking proactive actions.
Usually, there is no need to change the team but a big need to changethe context they operate in.
BTW, when it works, you get no credit. They always think they figured it out themselves. I hope you are fine with it :).
